The ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute is a regional research centre dedicated to the study of socio-political, security and economic trends and developments in Southeast Asia and its wider geostrategic and economic environment.

TUN DATO SIR CHENG-LOCK TAN M.A. SCHOLARSHIP

The Tun Dato Sir Cheng-Lock Tan MA Scholarship is set up to support scholars who are interested to research in the areas of Southeast Asian Studies, Political Science & International Relations, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, History, Geography, Archaeology/Archaeological Science.

Requirement

Candidates should:
(a) Be Singapore citizens or permanent residents
(b) Be in possession of a good honours degree (or professional qualifications of equivalent standing) in a relevant subject
(c) Have a consistently good academic record and
(d) Be prepared to take up courses and/or carry out research on Southeast Asia

Value of Scholarships

Value of award:
• Tuition and other compulsory fees
• Monthly maintenance allowance
• Other preliminary expenses (i.e. visa application, immigration health surcharge, courier services etc.)
• Fieldwork allowance (inclusive of conferences)
• Medical Insurance
• Return Air passage (if applicable)

Bond Duration

Bond:
Successful candidates will serve a one-year bond with ISEAS following the completion of their studies
