Scholarship Details

MOH Holdings is the holding company of Singapore’s public healthcare clusters and agencies –National Healthcare Group (NHG), National University Health System (NUHS), Singapore Health Services (SingHealth) and agencies such as Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) and Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS)

We partner the Ministry of Health, the three integrated healthcare clusters, AIC and IHiS in building a strong talent pipeline for Singapore’s public healthcare sector. 

Community Nursing Scholarship (CNS)

The Community Nursing aims to nurture the next generation of community nursing leaders. It is offered by Ministry of Health in partnership with the public healthcare institutions and community care providers, and aims to develop nurse leaders to shape the future of community care.

Requirement

• Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident who will take up Singapore citizenship before embarking on his/her studies
• Possess good academic results, co-curricular activities record and communication skills
• Be applying to take up nursing studies in local educational institutions  (NYP, NP, NUS or SIT)  or a post-registration nursing degree programme in MOHH-approved local or overseas universities; 
or
Be a current nursing student in local educational institution (NYP, NP, NUS or SIT)
• Have a strong interest to serve in the community and possess leadership qualities

Value of Scholarships

• Tuition and compulsory charges
• Monthly allowance*
• Pre-studies allowance*
• Salaries for nurses undertaking post-registration degree studies with more than one year of experience in the community setting
• Return economy airfare (for overseas studies only)
• Sponsorship for  MOHH approved developmental programmes
• Commencement award*
• Distinction award (for scholars who graduate with at least Second Class (Upper) Honours or equivalent)

*Existing nursing students receiving the CNS will receive full funding support, which includes tuition fees and monthly allowance from the point of award, as well as a back payment of tuition fees (excluding monthly allowance) from the first year of study. Pre-studies allowance and commencement award are not applicable. Bond computation for these mid-term scholarship recipients is the same as that for full-term

Bond Duration

For 'O' Level Graduates
• Diploma (NYP/NP) + Local Degree (SIT):  3 years bond  OR
• Diploma (NYP/NP) + MOHH-approved Overseas Post-Registration Degree: 3 years bond

‘A’ Level Graduates or Polytechnic Diploma Holders or equivalent qualifications (eg. International Baccalaureate (IB) or high school diploma) 
• Local Degree (NUS): 4 years bond

Existing Nurses seeking Degree Conversion
• Local Degree (SIT): 3 years bond 
• MOHH-approved Overseas Post-Registration Degree: 3 years bond

• Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP)
• Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) 
• Alice Lee Centre for Nursing under National University of Singapore (NUS) applicable only for 4 year nursing course
• Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) 19 month nursing post registration studies 
• MOHH approved overseas universities 1 year nursing post registration studies
