The National Library Board (NLB) Scholarship seeks to develop and nurture talents to champion NLB’s mission – to make knowledge come alive, spark imagination and create possibilities. A purpose that essentially stems from an insatiable appetite for learning.
NLB Scholars will get to be part of NLB’s transformation under the LAB25 (Libraries and Archives Blueprint 2025), to reimagine the libraries and archives in Singapore. We offer promising talents the opportunity to pursue full-time undergraduate studies in diverse fields to advance library and archives development and to grow domain expertise in various knowledge fields. Students/graduates or equivalent who meet the following:
• Be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident who is willing to take up Singapore Citizenship
• Have good academic and Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) records
• Have GCE ‘A’ Levels, International Baccalaureate, Polytechnic or NUS High School diploma
• Possess strong leadership qualities, interpersonal skills and a passion for learning and service
The NLB Undergraduate Scholarship is a fully-funded programme that covers tuition and other compulsory fees, return airfare (for overseas scholarship), maintenance and other allowances (where applicable) and includes an internship.
Bond:
Local universities: 4 years
Non-English speaking countries (e.g. China) : 5 years
English-speaking countries (e.g. US, UK and Australia): 6 years
Undergraduate studies in diverse fields ranging from Business, Humanities (eg Literature, Digital Humanities, Chinese Language etc), Social Sciences (eg History, Southeast Asian Studies, Contemporary China etc), Information Science, to Data Analytics etc, except very specialised fields such as Medicine, Dentistry and Law.
Scholars can choose to study locally or at renowned universities overseas.
