
The MOE TA is a prestigious award offered to individuals who possess a passion for teaching, tenable for undergraduate studies either at a local autonomous university or in the NTU-NIE Bachelor of Arts/Science (BABSc) programme*.
From AY2025/26 onwards, MOE will sponsoring more individuals with interest and aptitude for teaching in MOE schools to join the BABSc Double Major programme. Some of these individuals will be offered placement in the NTU-NIE Teaching Scholars Programme (TSP) from the start. Other TA holders who do well in the BABSc programme may be offered placement in the TSP after their second year of study, subject to them meeting the prevailing qualifying criteria for the TSP.
As a recipient of the MOE Teaching Award, you will be sponsored for your undergraduate tuition fees and receive an allowance. You will also be given developmental opportunities to prepare you for an enriching career as a future educator. After you have begun your career as an educator and depending on your performance and potential, you may also have the opportunity to take on key positions in the school or be deployed to the MOE Headquarters.
* The BABSc is a 4-year double major programme which offers a forward-looking, multidisciplinary curriculum which combines academic content grounding with education and pedagogical knowledge. The programme aims to produce graduates with intellectual rigour, strong leadership skills, and a global perspective, who are ready to make significant contributions to the Education Service.

• GCE A-Levels, International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, Polytechnic Diploma, NUS High Diploma or equivalent
• Strong passion for education
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Return economy airfare, if you are studying overseas
• Developmental programmes, such as school attachments, during your undergraduate studies
